The Future Of Fort Mill School District Middle School Sports

How is our Athletic Program Changing?

  • Due to drastic budget cuts in our district, the School Board is requiring the middle school athletic program to be self‐funded going forward.
  • Athletes will now be required to pay $100/sport to participate in the school sponsored activities. This fee is non‐refundable and due prior to the first game.
  • Scholarships will be provided for those in need of financial assistance.
  • Booster Clubs will be required to provide funding for the athletic program. Failure to do so could eliminate some or all middle school sports.

What hasn’t changed? Continue reading

Proposal To Create the Fort Mill School District Athletic Board

The  following proposal was presented to the Fort Mill School Board by Lisa E. McCarley of the Fort Mill Middle School Boosters Club on March 22, 2010

WHY?

  1. To provide a pay-to-play sports program to replace the current Fort Mill School District middle school sports programs, but not compromise on the level of competition for the athletes. Continue reading
